Necessary preferences

Language, theme, and your analytics choice are stored as first-party preference cookies. They are required to remember your selected reading experience and are not used to profile you.

Optional analytics

After consent, the site loads a self-hosted Umami instance to measure page views, sessions, referrers, device categories, languages, paths, and aggregate reading-progress events. LaPresse creates a random anonymous identifier containing no name, email address, or account information and passes it to Umami as the Distinct ID.

RSS

The Weekly RSS endpoint records hourly aggregate request counts and a shortened user-agent family. It does not set a reader cookie.

Processing and retention

Application and analytics data are processed on the LaPresse server. Operational logs exclude passwords, TOTP secrets, API keys, full session cookies, and source credentials. Aggregate analytics retention is configured in the self-hosted analytics service and reviewed periodically.

Your choice

You may refuse analytics without losing any reading feature. Withdrawing consent deletes the first-party anonymous ID and stops subsequent analytics requests in this browser.
