Who it is for
Robotics integrators and VLA teams deciding between collecting more demonstrations and changing the action interface.
Why now
Four independent groups published representation-level wins in this window, each with a different mechanism: a frozen teacher's behavior intent recovered from an intermediate decoder layer at inference lifted SimplerEnv-Bridge from 64.3% to 84.7% while the deployed policy keeps standard inputs; per-arm atomic prompts plus an arm-shuffle permutation produced success on unseen multi-arm collaboration patterns; a typed motor-program library with a behavioral-equivalence kernel replaced monolithic action decoding; and representing actions as pixel motion created a shared interface across embodiments plus an emergent inverse mode needing no task-specific demonstrations. A year ago the answer to generalization was scale; now the answer is where the action comes from.
What would kill it
A reproduction showing these representation-level gains do not compose (intent plus typed programs plus per-arm prompts do not stack) or fail on real hardware contact dynamics; the REFACTOR-VLA world-model scaling result already suggests that is the fragile link.
